(post title stolen shamelessly from Balloon Juice category name)
I culd easily rattle off on this topic for pages, but I’ll try to keep it short. Fuck 2012. I refer to the Apocalypse-porn movie. Its plot is based loosely on a bunch of bullshit about how because the ancient Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012, [...]

California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently vetoed a unanimously approved measure from the State Assembly. It’s about financing the port of San Francisco, so it’s not really exciting news by itself. But the letters at the beginning of each line perfectly spell out “Fuck you” down the left column of the page:
Ok, that’s kinda interesting, I [...]

Antville has a list of the 101 best music videos of the 2000s, and the list is fairly canonical. I recommend a look.
I would, however, like to point out five of the best videos not included on Antville’s somewhat limited list…
M83 – Don’t Save Us From the Flames: A sweet unrequited high school love story [...]

Giving an NFL player a $5,000 fine seems like the most useless punishment on earth.
Kyle Vanden Bosch makes $3.6 million a year. Fining him for roughing the passer has almost no influence whatsoever on his decision-making.
Furthermore, the NFL has no consistent policy. What makes a hit worth $5,000 as opposed to $7,500? No one knows!

In case you haven’t been paying attention to the Billboard charts, you may have missed the #3 debut of Toby Keith’s latest record, American Ride. It blows, of course, but that is besides the point. On a Billboard chart dominated by Michael Buble, the rejuvenated Kiss, and Barbra Streisand, it’s hard to say that American [...]

“Star Wars Uncut” asks the age-old question: What if you asked the Internet to re-make “Star Wars” in 15-second increments, then compiled those 15-second segments together to create a scene-by-scene remake of the original?
In our cultural moment, we have the unique ability to survey almost any kind of culture, no matter our location, and re-purpose [...]

This one’s too easy, but here it goes. Glenn Beck’s book is currently ranked #2 on Amazon, behind only Sarah Palin’s upcoming book, Going Rogue: An American Life. Beck’s book is titled Arguing with Idiots: How to Stop Small Minds and Big Government. For irony and unintentional comedy, that’s hard to top.
